KATHMANDU: The upcoming Nepali film ‘Ba: Ek Yoddha’ is set to hit theatres on Sept 4.

The film presents a powerful narrative rooted in Nepali society, focusing on a father’s lifelong sacrifices, struggles, and dedication toward securing a better future for his children.

At the heart of the story lies the emotional question of who truly carries the burden of the entire family—the “Ba” (father) who stands as the central heroic figure of the film.

The makers have designed the storyline to highlight the emotional and social significance of fatherhood in Nepali culture.

The production team has gradually been revealing the cast. Recently, actors Sagar Khanal, Shishir Siwakoti, Supriya Sharma, and Shabi Thapa were announced.

Earlier, the names of Jharana Thapa, Suahana Thapa, and actor Divyadev Panta were also made public.

However, the central character—the “Ba” himself—has not yet been officially revealed, keeping audience curiosity high.

Director Hari Lamsal confirmed that the lead character will be disclosed in due time. He also serves as the writer and director of the film.

“We will continue revealing more details gradually, including the full cast and the main character,” Lamsal said, adding that the identity of the ‘Ba’ will be announced soon.

Produced under the banner of Artistic Entertainment, the film marks Lamsal’s directorial debut in feature filmmaking.

Renowned for delivering numerous timeless songs in Nepali music, he is also a singer and composer, expanding his creative journey into cinema.

The film is produced by Basanta Lamsal, who previously produced the film ‘Karma’ featuring actor Bipin Karki. Cinematography is handled by Shivaram Shrestha, with Taranath Neupane serving as the chief assistant director.

‘Ba: Ek Yoddha’ will be distributed by Kuber Cine Distributors, led by Ashish H. Tamang and Pradeep Dhami.
