‘The Taste of Sel Roti’ at Kaushi Theatre from June 21

KATHMANDU: A new theatrical production titled The Test of Sel Roti is set to premiere at Kaushi Theatre in Teku from Asar 7 (June 21), featuring a unique blend of storytelling that connects multiple time periods through a single emotional thread.
Conceptualized, written, designed, and directed by Milson D. Chamling, the play will be staged regularly at the venue.
The production is based on two performers and weaves together three distinct narratives from different eras into one unified emotional experience.
The performance explores themes of myth, art, language diversity, and cinematic expression, aiming to translate feelings of story, pain, memory, and longing onto the stage.
Actors Vedana Rai and Prayas Bantawa Rai will lead the performance, while Ranjana Bhattarai serves as production head and assistant director.
The background score has been composed by Anurag Koich.
According to the theatre, the play will run daily except Tuesdays until Asar 28 (July 12) at 5:15 PM, with an additional show scheduled on Saturdays at 1:00 PM.
The production is expected to take audiences on an emotional journey through time and memory, focusing on human relationships, separation, grief, and desire presented in a highly artistic form.
