KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Balen Shah has issued a clarification after facing mixed reactions over a recent social media post featuring photos with Home Minister Sudhan Gurung and Physical Infrastructure Minister Sunil Lamsal.
On Sunday evening, PM Shah shared the images with the caption “team that builds the nation,” which sparked online criticism.
Some social media users argued that the post appeared to sideline other cabinet members and questioned its political message.
Responding to the controversy, the Prime Minister urged people not to interpret his statement as a serious political signal. He wrote that he usually jokes on weekends after a busy work week and added that it would only be concerning “the day he stops joking.”
Following his clarification, the post sparked further debate online, with supporters defending it as lighthearted humour, while critics emphasised that leaders in high office should exercise greater caution in their public communications.
