FM Khanal visits Chinese Research Institute in Beijing

KATHMANDU: Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal, currently on a four-day official visit to China, has visited the Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research under the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

During the visit, he emphasized the need for deeper and more extensive cooperation between Nepal and China, particularly in the field of scientific research and environmental studies.
Khanal arrived in Beijing on Sunday morning at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister and Politburo member of the Communist Party of China, Wang Yi.
He is scheduled to conclude his visit and return to Nepal on Asar 3.
The Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research is part of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, one of the country’s leading scientific bodies focusing on high-altitude and climate-related studies.
