Kedar Ghimire in US for daughter’s treatment: Wife clarifies
Speaking at the song launch event of the film “Gauthali” on Thursday, she clarified that her husband is in the US primarily due to their daughter’s health condition.
KATHMANDU: Popular Nepali comedian Kedar Ghimire has reportedly been in the United States for around six months, sparking speculation that he is in the process of obtaining a Green Card.
However, the actor has not issued any official statement regarding his immigration status.
Due to his extended stay abroad, he has been replaced in the upcoming film “Chha Maya Chhapakkai 2”, produced by the popular Deepak Raj Giri–Deepa Shree Niraula team.
According to sources, the script of the film was also revised after Ghimire’s return was delayed.
Amid growing media reports suggesting his long-term stay in the US for residency purposes, Ghimire’s wife, actress Sita Devi Timsina, has dismissed such claims.
Speaking at the song launch event of the film “Gauthali” on Thursday, she clarified that her husband is in the US primarily due to their daughter’s health condition.
When asked how much she misses her husband, Timsina responded emotionally, saying that separation is natural but responsibilities come first. “Of course, I miss him. But missing someone should not mean neglecting responsibilities. Our daughter is in the United States and is not in the best of health, so he is staying there to take care of her. I am looking after our son here, while he is taking care of our daughter there,” she said.
Ghimire had travelled to the United States after the release of his recent film “Jerry on Top”. Reports suggest that he had to turn down several film offers due to the possibility of a long stay abroad for immigration-related reasons.
Producers of “Chha Maya Chhapakkai 2” reportedly waited for him for several months before eventually proceeding with changes in casting and the storyline.
