Yango becomes official title sponsor for Lumbini Lions

KATHMANDU: Yango in Nepal, part of the global technology company Yango Group, has signed the official title sponsorship for Lumbini Lions, one of Nepal’s favorite cricket teams, for the second season of the Nepal Premier League (NPL).

Expressing happiness upon welcoming Yango as the title sponsor, Lumbini Lions’ President Ishwar GC thanked Yango for supporting the NPL. He stated: “We are delighted to welcome ‘Yango,’ a company popular among the youth, as our team’s title sponsor. We share the same vision for excellence, innovation, and global reach. Carrying the passion, pride, and potential of Nepali cricket, we have chosen Yango as our perfect companion to roar at both national and international levels.”

Signing the title sponsor for Lumbini Lions, Yango representative in Nepal stated: “Cricket is a loved sport in Nepal, and something that connects everyone. We are particularly excited to support Lumbini Lions, and wish them the best in the upcoming Nepal Premier League. We are super confident that they will perform great in the tournament.

The Lumbini Lions, with Rohit Kumar Paudel, Captain of the Nepal National Cricket Team, as their marquee player, are intensively preparing for the second season of the NPL.

With the NPL scheduled to take place under floodlights at the TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur from Mangsir 1 (mid-November), Lumbini has been training under lights at Extrat Tech Oval.

For the upcoming season, the Lumbini Lions have appointed Indian mentors and coaches — Robin Singh, an IPL-winning coach, as mentor, and Tinu Yohannan, a former Indian cricketer, as head coach.

The team has retained players such as Rohit Kumar Paudel, Sandeep Jora, Vivek Yadav, Dinesh Adhikari, Abhishek Gautam, and Tilak Bhandari, while signing Durgesh Gupta, Dilip Nath, Sher Malla, Adil Khan, and Bishal Patel from the auction.
