KATHMANDU: Rabi Lamichhane, President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has pledged to fully implement every clause of the party’s internal agreements “word by word,” expressing strong commitment to unity and discipline within the party.

Speaking at the inauguration of the party’s first general convention, Lamichhane said attempts were being made to create division and internal conflict within RSP, but the leadership remained firm and united.

“We have made agreements in the presence of the Nepali people and history. I promise here to honestly follow every single word of that agreement,” he said.

Lamichhane also remarked that the party had already “passed the ball” to Balen Shah before the elections, adding that it was now Balen Shah’s responsibility to “score goals” in national politics, while indicating continued coordination and support from his side.

He further claimed that RSP is operating as a strong political force keeping oversight of governance in a government with a two-thirds majority.

Responding to critics, he said many try to misinterpret or create confusion, but he was speaking to history rather than political opponents, reaffirming his commitment to the party’s long-term mission and unity.
