KATHMANDU: Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal and Chair of the National Assembly Narayan Prasad Dahal have conducted an on-site inspection of the proposed dry port project area in Dodhara–Chandani Municipality of Kanchanpur District.

The leaders, who are in Sudurpashchim Province to participate in a high-level inter-parliamentary conference, reviewed the site today as part of efforts to assess key trade infrastructure seen as vital for boosting Nepal’s economic growth.

During the visit, Deputy Speaker Ruby Kumari and National Assembly Vice Chair Leela Kumari Bhandari also accompanied the delegation.

The team also inspected several culturally, religiously, and economically significant sites including Bhakkeni Dham, Brahmadev, and the Tanakpur area, highlighting their importance for tourism and cross-border connectivity.

They further visited Mahendranagar Airport and the Shuklaphanta National Park, where discussions were held with stakeholders regarding the airport’s upgrading and potential expansion of services.

Officials emphasized that integrated infrastructure development in the region could significantly strengthen trade, tourism, and overall economic prospects for Nepal.
