Boyfriend held over murder of woman found under Ratuwa Bridge

KATHMANDU: Police investigation into the murder of a woman whose body was discovered beneath the Ratuwa Bridge in Damak two days ago has revealed the involvement of her boyfriend.
The victim, identified as Rama Tiwari, was found dead after her body was recovered from beneath the bridge, stuffed inside a sack.
Following an intensive investigation, police arrested a young man suspected of being involved in the crime, leading investigators to uncover a romantic relationship between the accused and the victim.
According to police sources, the suspect and Tiwari had been in contact for some time and were reportedly in a relationship.
The accused, who is said to have a history of drug abuse, had been residing at a rehabilitation center in Damak.
Sources said he was released from the rehabilitation facility on Jestha 13 (May 27), after which the murder is believed to have taken place.
Police have stated that the investigation has reached its final stage.
However, authorities have not yet disclosed the identity of the arrested individual.
Investigators are still working to determine the exact circumstances of the killing, how the victim’s body was transported to the Ratuwa River area, and whether any other individuals were involved in the crime.
Police are expected to make further details public once the investigation is formally concluded.
