KATHMANDU: Key political leaders from major communist parties are set to appear together on the same stage after a long interval, marking a rare moment of political convergence.
The occasion is a thought symposium organized to commemorate the 75th birth anniversary of late people’s leader Madan Bhandari.
The event will be held on Asar 14 at the National Assembly Hall in Pradarshani Marg, Kathmandu, under the title “Nepal’s Communist Movement and People’s Leader Madan Bhandari”, according to the Madan Bhandari Foundation.
Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari will attend as the chief guest.
Prominent speakers include CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli, Maoist Centre leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, and Unified Socialist leader Madhav Kumar Nepal.
Senior communist leader Jhalanath Khanal and Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal Chair Upendra Yadav are also scheduled to speak.

The gathering is being viewed with political interest as it brings together key leaders of Nepal’s communist movement on a single platform after a considerable gap.
