NEPSE index dips slightly; turnover near Rs 3.95 billion

KATHMANDU: The benchmark index of the Nepal stock market slipped marginally on the trading session today.
According to the Nepal Stock Exchange, the NEPSE Index declined by two points to close at 2,649.51.
Similarly, the Sensitive Index, which measures the performance of large-cap companies, dropped by 0.55 points to settle at 457.68.
A total of 35.9 million shares from 359 listed companies were traded during the session, generating a turnover of approximately Rs 3.94 billion.
In terms of trading volume, debentures of Global IME Bank (2086/87) topped the list of most traded securities, followed by debentures of Global IME Bank (2084/85), Nepal Bank debenture (2087), Ankhu Khola Hydropower Company, and City Hotel.
On the gainers’ side, securities such as Snow River Falls, Taksar Piluwa Khola Hydropower, Yambaling Hydropower, NMB Debenture 2089/90, and NMB Debenture 2090 posted gains.
Meanwhile, shares of Kalika Laghubitta, Saptakoshi Development Bank, NIC Asia Debenture 2080, Sopaan Pharmaceuticals, and Mai Khola Hydropower ended the session in losses.
Overall, the market showed a mixed performance with a slight bearish bias amid moderate trading activity.
