KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Deepak Singh drew the government’s attention to the halt of free heart disease treatment services for children under 15 at the Shahid Gangalal National Heart Center.

Singh stated that due to non-payment by the government, the center has suspended the free treatment program, which was primarily aimed at children from economically disadvantaged families.

The government had previously approved a grant of Rs 250,000 to support heart treatment for children from poor families.

However, the non-release of funds for the last fiscal year has caused the center to stop this crucial service.

Singh urged the Minister of Health to immediately resume the free heart treatment services.

Additionally, Singh announced that the RPP would boycott parliamentary proceedings until a parliamentary inquiry committee is formed to investigate the visa-on-arrival scandal.
