Poojana Pradhan joins ‘Maharajdhiraj’ cast

KATHMANDU: Actress Poojana Pradhan has officially been signed on for the upcoming film Maharajdhiraj during its ongoing production phase, the makers confirmed on the 33rd day of filming.
The announcement was made while the film’s shooting schedule continued on Monday, with the production team stating that Pradhan was brought in to strengthen the cast further. “We were searching for a strong and capable artist, and we are pleased to have signed Poojana Pradhan. Her addition has made our team even more powerful,” said presenter Biraj Bista.
Directed by Parichhed Sen and shot by cinematographer Nawaraj Thapa, Maharajdhiraj is described as a social period drama currently being filmed across various locations in Kathmandu.
The production initially began in Sri Lanka Tappu, Sunsari, and has also completed shooting segments in Bhaktapur.
The film follows a 70-day shooting schedule and is being produced under the banner of Chhatreshwar Management Pvt. Ltd., with screenplay also written by director Sen himself.
Maharajdhiraj features a large ensemble cast including Aryan Sigdel, Ramesh Upreti, Pushpa Khadka, Pooja Sharma, Keki Adhikari, Usha Rajak, Gajit Bista, Jaikishan Basnet, Mohaan Niraula, and Dinesh DC, among others.
The film reportedly brings together around 80 actors in total, including veteran and emerging performers, making it one of the most ambitious ensemble projects in recent Nepali cinema.
Producers of the film include Rabi Khadka and Topendra Bista.
