KATHMANDU: The first official poster of the upcoming film Ba: Ek Yoddha has been released on Sunday, offering a powerful glimpse into a family-driven emotional drama centered on a father’s struggle and sacrifice.

The poster prominently features the film’s lead characters, showing them in a tense and emotionally charged atmosphere.

It confirms that actor Dibya Dev plays the role of “Ba” (father). He is seen wearing glasses, appearing stressed and deeply burdened, suggesting a man caught in difficult life circumstances.

Alongside him appears Suhana Thapa, who plays the daughter. She is shown walking through a rural setting carrying a bag, dressed in a simple outfit, also reflecting emotional strain.

The poster further reveals that Jharana Thapa plays the role of the mother, indicating she shares an on-screen family relationship with Suhana Thapa. This confirms an on-screen mother–daughter pairing within the film’s central family narrative.

A glimpse of a small household is visible in the background, featuring a family of four—parents and two children—hinting at a typical middle-class Nepali household. Visual elements such as a parked motorcycle, a modest home setting, and a distressed land ownership document suggest financial pressure and the emotional burden of supporting children’s future.

The presence of an airplane in the background further hints that one of the family members may have gone abroad for education or foreign employment, a theme deeply connected to modern Nepali society.

The film also features Sagar Khanal, Shishir SivaKoti, Suprajna Sharma, Shabi Thapa, and Anil Budhathoki in key roles.

Directed and written by Hari Lamsal, Ba: Ek Yoddha explores the sacrifices of fathers who endure lifelong struggles to secure a better future for their children. The story highlights emotional resilience, financial hardship, and the silent battles within a Nepali family.

The film is produced by Basanta Lamsal under the banner of Artistic Entertainment. Cinematography is handled by Shivarama Shrestha, while Taranath Neupane serves as the chief assistant director.

The film is set to release on Bhadra 19, coinciding with the eve of Kushe Aunsi (Father’s Day), aligning closely with its central theme of fatherhood and sacrifice.

Distribution rights are handled by Kubera Cine Distribution by Ashish H. Tamang and Pradip Dhami.
