Police seek 12-day custody for Durga Prasai

KATHMANDU: Police have requested the Kathmandu District Court for a 12-day extension to detain prominent medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai for further investigation.

Prasai was presented before the court earlier today, where the police, through the Office of the Government Attorney, formally sought approval to keep him in custody during the initial phase of the investigation.

Authorities have not yet disclosed detailed information regarding the charges or the ongoing probe, but sources suggest the detention is related to recent developments involving his public activities and statements.

The court is expected to rule on the custody request shortly.
