No possibility of unity with UML: Madhav Kumar Nepal

KATHMANDU: Chairperson of the CPN (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal, has made it clear that there is no possibility of party unification with the CPN-UML.
Addressing a unity program between the Nepal National Unity Campaign and CPN (Unified Socialist), Nepal urged supporters not to harbor any illusions about a possible merger with UML. “I have seen the situation within UML up close. There is no point in expecting unity,” he stated.
Nepal further remarked, “When communists go astray, the situation becomes unbearable. I see that happening now. Those who have strayed must realize their mistakes, correct them, and reform themselves. We hold no grudges against anyone.”
He emphasized the need for self-reflection and accountability among political actors, saying, “If mistakes were made in the past, they should be acknowledged and corrected. Let us all move forward on the right path.”
Nepal also accused the CPN-UML of attempting to weaken his party. He asserted that the unity with the Nepal National Unity Campaign would play a vital role in strengthening his party and expanding its political base.
“Some may still have hopes or expectations of unity with UML, but from where we stand today, there is absolutely no possibility,” he reiterated.
