KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) closed 9.61 points higher on Wednesday, ending the trading day at 2,665.60 points, a rise of 0.36 percent.

A total of Rs 6.69 billion worth of securities were traded, with 136.2 million shares changing hands.

By market close, the share prices of 142 companies increased, while 104 declined, and 11 remained unchanged.

In total, 322 companies were traded in 91,705 transactions throughout the day.

Notably, the shares of six companies hit the positive circuit level.

Hotel & Tourism Sector Leads the Gains

Investor focus remained strong in the Hotel and Tourism sector, which posted the day’s highest growth of 0.99 percent.
Alongside this, seven other sectoral indices also closed in the green, while five sectors ended lower.

Non-Life Insurance Sector Suffers the Biggest Drop

The Non-Life Insurance sector recorded the sharpest decline of the day, bearing the heaviest losses among all sectoral indices.
