KATHMANDU: The Public Policy and Subordinate Legislation Committee of the National Assembly inspected the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Wednesday.
The committee reviewed ongoing works, including the construction of the parapet and the installation of floodlights.
Project Chief Chakravarti Kantha briefed the members on the current progress, stating that the parapet construction is expected to be completed by the end of Bhadra.
However, the floodlight installation is likely to take another month, as the lights have not yet arrived, causing delays.
Committee Chair Maya Prasad Sharma emphasized that the construction company must complete the work within the stipulated timeframe.
She noted that while the company is currently paying penalties for delays, extensions cannot continue indefinitely.
The construction firm has been working under a system of daily penalties for failing to meet the government-set deadlines.
