MP Gaire urges quality work on Kalanki–Maharajgunj Ring Road project
MP Gaire cited severe past difficulties during the Narayangadh–Butwal road project and warned of similar issues emerging in Daunne.
KATHMANDU: CPN-UML lawmaker Thakur Gaire has stressed the importance of learning from past road construction challenges while upgrading the Kalanki–Maharajgunj–Ring Road corridor.
Speaking at Friday’s Infrastructure Development Committee meeting, MP Gaire cited severe past difficulties during the Narayangadh–Butwal road project and warned of similar issues emerging in Daunne.
He urged authorities to remain vigilant and avoid repeating mistakes.
Highlighting past criticism of the government over delays, he called for excellence throughout the Ring Road upgrade—from start to finish.
He welcomed the recent momentum in the project and asked the government to address problems in the Basundhara area as well.
“If the 300-meter stretch in Basundhara cannot be included under the Chinese-assisted project, the government must arrange alternative funding,” he said.
Gaire further emphasized timely completion and the need to set a positive example through efficient and quality execution.
