KATHMANDU: Employees working under the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development, Madhesh Province staged a pen-down strike today to protest the killing of sub-engineer Pramod Kumar Yadav.

The employees halted all official work by wearing black armbands and demanded a fair and swift investigation into the incident.

Sub-engineer Yadav, who was serving at the Infrastructure Development Office, Sarlahi, was shot dead by an unidentified group on Sunday night in Malangwa–10.

Following the incident, technical and administrative staff across the province have launched protests.

Participating employees said repeated attacks on technical personnel deployed in public service have exposed serious weaknesses in workplace security.

They urged the government to immediately arrest those responsible and take legal action.

Various employee unions and associations issued a joint statement, calling on authorities to treat the incident with utmost seriousness.

The statement warned that such violent acts demoralize employees and directly disrupt public service delivery.
