KMC scholarship: 3,051 students admitted in first matching list
Schools completed admissions after updating student data, which created additional vacant seats for further allocation.
KATHMANDU: Under the scholarship selection system for Grade 11 and 12 operated by Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC), a total of 3,051 students have secured admission through the first matching list for the academic year 2083/84.
According to the Examination Committee, 3,735 students were included in the merit-based matching list, from which admissions were confirmed based on seat availability and student preferences.
Subject-wise admissions
- Science: 1,901 students
- Management: 1,111 students
- Law: 34 students
- Humanities: 5 students

Second matching list published
The committee has released a second matching list of 486 students:
- Science: 323
- Management: 145
- Law: 15
- Humanities: 1
- Education: 2
Students were selected based on merit order, subject choice, institutional preference, reservation category, and available seats.
Admission deadline
Selected students must download their nomination letter from the official portal using roll number, date of birth, and password sent via mobile or email.
Admission must be completed by June 17, otherwise the scholarship will be cancelled automatically.
A third matching list will be published after the deadline.
Total seats and competition
This year, 4,857 scholarship seats have been allocated across 145 schools, including:
- Science: 2,371
- Management: 1,549
- Education: 7
- Humanities: 49
- Law: 75
The entrance exam was held on May 31, with the preliminary list on Jestha 18 and final list on June 4.
