KATHMANDU: Bayern Munich continued their perfect Bundesliga run with a commanding 4–0 victory over Werder Bremen on Friday night, thanks to a stunning brace from Harry Kane.

The England captain etched his name into the record books by becoming the fastest player in Europe’s top five leagues to score 100 goals for a single club, reaching the landmark in just 104 games.

Kane’s milestone surpassed Cristiano Ronaldo’s record at Real Madrid (105 games in 2011) and equaled Erling Haaland’s mark at Manchester City last season.

Kane opened his account just before half-time from the penalty spot and netted his 100th goal in the 65th minute with a close-range finish.

Jonathan Tah had put Bayern ahead in the 22nd minute, while Konrad Laimer sealed the victory with the fourth in the 87th minute.

This feat follows Kane’s hat-trick against Hoffenheim last week, where he also set records as the fastest player to reach 70 Bundesliga goals—achieved in just 67 appearances

Earlier, he had become the quickest in league history to score 50 goals, hitting the mark in only 50 matches.

The 32-year-old striker continues to rewrite records:

  • First Bundesliga player to score 18 consecutive penalties.
  • First player to finish as top scorer in his debut two Bundesliga seasons.
  • Only player to hit 25+ goals in each of his first two Bundesliga campaigns.

Kane’s current season has been nothing short of sensational, with 15 goals in just eight appearances, including two hat-tricks in five league matches.

Under Vincent Kompany, Bayern remain unbeaten with a 100% record at the top of the Bundesliga table.

Beyond Germany, Kane also leads as the highest-scoring Englishman in Champions League history with 42 goals. Remarkably, he has scored against every single one of the 20 Bundesliga opponents he has faced—a record previously held only by Miroslav Klose, who scored against all 28 clubs he played.

Kane joined Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023 for a club-record £100 million, after netting 280 goals in 435 appearances for Spurs.
