Gold price jumps by Rs 5,000 per tola in local market

KATHMANDU: The price of gold has surged sharply in the local market, rising by Rs 5,000 per tola on Monday.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of Chhapawal gold, which was traded at Rs 293,200 per tola on Sunday, has been fixed at Rs 298,200 for today.

Earlier on Friday, gold was priced at Rs 292,000 per tola.

Similarly, silver prices have also increased by Rs 120 per tola.

Silver, which was traded at Rs 4,895 per tola on Sunday, is now set at Rs 5,015 per tola.

On Friday, silver was priced at Rs 4,840 per tola.

In the international market, gold is currently being traded at USD 4,329.47 per ounce.
