KATHMANDU: IME Limited on Friday marked its 26th anniversary with a special ceremony in Kathmandu, highlighting its journey from a remittance service provider to a key player in Nepal’s broader financial and digital payment ecosystem.

Speaking at the event, IME Limited Founder and Chairman Hem Raj Dhakal said the company remains committed to strengthening financial inclusion and driving economic transformation through advanced digital innovation.

He emphasized that IME aims to deliver more refined, secure, and faster integrated financial services by embracing emerging technologies.

Recalling the company’s origins, Dhakal noted that IME was born from a simple idea shaped by personal experiences during his time in foreign employment.

What began as a remittance-focused initiative has now evolved into a trusted and integral part of Nepal’s financial and digital payments landscape.

He also highlighted IME’s contribution in expanding financial access from remote rural areas to urban centers, helping promote inclusive growth and supporting broader socio-economic transformation across the country.

With the rapid rise of artificial intelligence and machine learning, Dhakal said IME is focused on integrating modern technologies into its services, aiming to enhance efficiency, security, and speed in remittance and other financial operations.

IME Group Chairman Chandra Prasad Dhakal described the journey of the past 26 years as a proud milestone, stating that the identity of “IME means remittance, and remittance means IME” reflects the company’s strong market position and trust among users.

He added that this success also brings greater responsibility.

He further reaffirmed the group’s commitment to working with the government to formalize remittance inflows, strengthen foreign currency reserves, and channel remittances into productive sectors to support national economic growth.

IME Limited CEO Diwakar Poudel emphasized the company’s focus on collaboration, technological excellence, business ethics, and shared values.

He said IME will continue to evolve with technological advancement and expand diversified services that connect directly with people’s daily financial needs.

During the ceremony, IME also unveiled its new logo, which the company said represents its expanded range of financial services.

The event featured the distribution of certificates, medals, and trophies to winners and runners-up of inter-company sports and competitions, along with special recognition of long-serving employees.

The celebration saw enthusiastic participation from board members, chief executives, senior management, and employees from IME Limited and IME Group companies.
