Bindra Hada Bhattarai appointed Independent Director at GIBL

KATHMANDU: Global IME Bank Limited has appointed former secretary Bindra Hada Bhattarai as an Independent Woman Director to its Board of Directors.

Following the decision, Bank Chair Chandra Prasad Dhakal formally welcomed her to the board during a special ceremony held on the same day.
Bhattarai brings more than three and a half decades of extensive experience in public administration, governance, and development management.
During her career in government service, she has worked in several key institutions including the Ministry of Irrigation, Nepal Trust, National Planning Commission, National Information Commission, Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare, and the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
She holds a Master’s degree in Chemistry and Public Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Tribhuvan University.
She has also pursued higher studies in Public Policy (Trade and Finance) from the University of North Carolina and in Nonprofit Management from Duke University, USA.
Currently, Bhattarai serves as an Executive Member of South Asia Watch on Trade, Economics and Environment and is also an Independent Director at Professional Holdings.
The bank expressed confidence that her appointment will further strengthen its strategic direction, social responsibility initiatives, and sustainable development goals.
The welcome ceremony was attended by board members, the Chief Executive Officer, and senior management officials.
