KATHMANDU: Gold prices in Nepal continued their upward climb on Monday, setting a new historic record.
According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Traders’ Association, the price of one tola of minted gold was fixed at Rs 260,700, marking the highest level ever in the Nepali market.
Just a day earlier, on Sunday, gold had already broken its previous record by reaching Rs 258,800 per tola.
The previous high had been recorded on Ashoj 31, when the price touched Rs 258,000.
Silver prices also saw an increase, rising by Rs 45 per tola to reach Rs 3,870, although the metal had recently hit its highest ever price of Rs 3,905 per tola last Friday.
The continuous surge in precious metal prices reflects growing market demand and investor interest in Nepal.
