Four of six Bhimphedi crash victims identified
Police identified the victims nearly 12 hours after the crash.
HETAUDA, Makwanpur: At least six people were killed and three others seriously injured after a jeep plunged nearly 100 meters off the road in Bhimphedi, Makwanpur, on Sunday evening.
The accident occurred at Jurikhet, Bhimphedi Rural Municipality–6, along the Kathmandu–Hetauda short route, when a Tata Sumo (registration no. Na 1 Ja 1778) traveling from Kathmandu to Hetauda went out of control and fell into a ravine, police said.
According to the District Police Office, Makwanpur, six passengers died on the spot. The injured were rescued and rushed to hospital.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Pushkar Bogati confirmed that the deceased include 40-year-old Sabita Lamsal of Kamaldanda, Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City–4, and 29-year-old Nikhil Agrawal of Kantirajpath, Hetauda–2.
Two Indian nationals—42-year-old Rajanis Kumar of Patna, Bihar, and 50-year-old Arbind Kumar of Begusarai, Bihar—were also among those killed.
The identities of two other male victims, estimated to be around 35 and 40 years old, are yet to be confirmed.
Three people sustained serious injuries. The driver, Ganesh Thapa (aged around 40–45) of Hetauda–4, and 12-year-old Abhyas Lamsal, son of the deceased Sabita Lamsal, were initially treated at Hetauda Hospital before being referred to Chitwan’s Purano Medical College in Bharatpur for further care. Police said their condition remains critical.
Another injured passenger, Richa Chaudhary of Chandrapur–2, Rautahat, is undergoing treatment at Hetauda Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
