KATHMANDU: Interim Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal has emphasized that meaningful reforms can only be achieved if policies and plans are fully implemented.

Speaking at an event in Kathmandu on Saturday, Khanal noted that while ideas and statements can be made easily, putting them into practice is often much harder due to systemic constraints.

He highlighted the significant gap between public expectations and the responsibilities required to deliver results.

Khanal stressed that only after the proper rule of law is established can the goals of good governance and effective corruption control, expected by the younger generation, be realized.

He added that even after public movements, adherence to the law has not been guaranteed, and legal governance has yet to be fully implemented.

He also acknowledged the crucial role played by previous finance ministers in strengthening financial administration.
