Distillery boiler explosion kills 1, injures 6

KATHMANDU: One person has died and six others were injured in an explosion of a boiler that took place at Jyoti Distillery in Katahariya Municipality-9.

In the incident that took place this morning, Laxman Yadav,45, of Baluwa, in the municipality, died on the spot, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Bishnu Basyal of the District Police Office.

All the injured have been sent to Birgunj for treatment. They have reportedly suffered burns on their hands and feet.

The cause of the explosion is not clear while a police investigation has been initiated.
