KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has stated that Nepal is ready to collaborate with countries worldwide to tackle economic crimes that pose a serious challenge to the nation.
Responding to queries in the National Assembly on Friday, Paudel emphasized that the government is capable of cooperating with any country to control large-scale and serious economic offenses that threaten the state.
Highlighting the government’s commitment, he said, “To prevent Nepal from being placed on the financial grey list, the state must actively control major economic crimes. Efforts are underway to collaborate with countries globally in this regard. Controlling economic offenses and promoting good governance are duties of the nation, and global initiatives to prevent money laundering and the financing of terrorism reflect this responsibility.”
Deputy PM Paudel further assured that despite facing economic challenges, Nepal is not in a situation of crisis or default.
