Binod Chaudhary urges public to hold new parties accountable
Chaudhary stated that he has presented a “report card” of the development work he has carried out in the constituency so far, and that new political parties must also be questioned about their actual performance.
KATHMANDU: Central Committee Member of the Nepali Congress and candidate from Nawalparasi Constituency No. 1, Binod Chaudhary, has said that the time has come for the public to demand accountability from newly emerged political parties for the work they have claimed to deliver.
Addressing a program organized by the Nepali Congress in Ward No. 9 of Pratappur Rural Municipality, Chaudhary stated that he has presented a “report card” of the development work he has carried out in the constituency so far, and that new political parties must also be questioned about their actual performance.
“We have publicly presented the account of what we have done. Now, people must also ask the so-called new parties where their head is and where their tail is,” he said, emphasizing that change must begin with oneself before attempting to change others. According to him, the Nepali Congress has come forward with a renewed agenda and a commitment to reform itself.
Speaking on development initiatives, Chaudhary informed that preparations are underway to hold discussions with industrialists within the next few days to create an environment for establishing industries and operationalizing the Industrial Village constructed along the Khajura Khola riverbank.
He also expressed confidence that dialysis services will commence at Shaheed Smriti Hospital Chaupata within a few days, which will put an end to the hardship faced by kidney patients who are currently forced to travel long distances for treatment.
In a separate context, Chaudhary said that he has long worked closely with the Tharu community and understands their honesty and challenges firsthand. “I understand the integrity of the Tharu community well. Many workers in my industries belong to the Tharu community, and through them I have closely understood their problems,” he said.
Chaudhary further stated that to sustain the pace of development and bring meaningful change, a stable government is essential.
He argued that in the upcoming election, the Nepali Congress must be ensured an overwhelming victory, asserting that a government under the leadership of Gagan Thapa is indispensable for the country’s progress.
