KATHMANDU: Bayern Munich continued their dominance in the Bundesliga with a commanding 5-0 victory over newly promoted Hamburg, consolidating their position at the top of the table.
The scoring began early as Serge Gnabry unleashed a powerful strike in the 3rd minute to open the account.
Just three minutes later, Alexander Pavlovic doubled Bayern’s lead, capitalizing on a precise pass from Harry Kane.
In the 26th minute, Hamburg’s Abubakar Sumahoro handled the ball inside the box, allowing Kane to convert a penalty after a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review.
The scoring spree continued in the 33rd minute when Luis Diaz curled in a stunning 25-yard free-kick from Joshua Kimmich’s set-piece.
During the second half, Chelsea loanee Nicolas Jackson was introduced by Bayern coach Vincent Kompany. Kane wrapped up his brace in the 62nd minute, making it 5-0.
The 32-year-old Kane has now netted 67 goals in 65 appearances for Bayern, including five league goals this season alone.
However, a potential ninth Bundesliga hat-trick for Kane was denied as Kompany substituted him shortly after his second goal.
