KATHMANDU: Barcelona played out an entertaining 3–3 draw against Club Brugge in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night in Belgium.

The match was intense from the start. Brugge took the lead in the 6th minute when Carlos Forbes broke the offside trap and set up Nicolo Tresoldi for a simple finish.

However, Barcelona responded quickly — Ferran Torres converted from Fermín López’s pass in the 8th minute to level the game.

Brugge restored their advantage in the 17th minute, with Forbes scoring on a counter-attack to make it 2–1. Barcelona pushed hard before the break, but efforts from Jules Koundé and Eric García struck the woodwork.

In the 61st minute, Lamine Yamal produced a brilliant equalizer, weaving between two defenders to finish from López’s back-heel assist. Yet just two minutes later, Forbes completed his brace to put Brugge 3–2 up.

Brugge were briefly awarded a penalty, but VAR overturned the decision. Barcelona eventually found their third goal in the 77th minute when Yamal’s cross deflected off Christos Tzolis and into his own net, ending the match 3–3.

In stoppage time, Romeo Vermant thought he had won it for Brugge, but his goal was ruled out after VAR detected a foul in the build-up.

With this result, Barcelona sits 11th in the standings, while Brugge is placed 22nd.
