Parliamentary meetings to resume based on party consensus: Speaker Ghimire

KATHMANDU: Speaker Devraj Ghimire has informed that parliamentary meetings will proceed as per the consensus among the parties.

Upon returning to the country after participating in the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly in Geneva, he engaged in discussions with journalists at Tribhuvan International Airport on Friday.

He stated that parliamentary sessions are scheduled to resume from March 31, according to the parliamentary calendar. “Discussions will take place between the parties, and we will move forward accordingly,” remarked Speaker Ghimire. However, he expressed uncertainty regarding the events that occurred during his absence. “I am not fully aware of what transpired here during my absence. Usually, parliamentary meetings are halted when the Speaker is away,” he added.
