KATHMANDU: Under the ongoing vote counting in the by-election of Ilam-2, CPN (UML) candidate Suhang Nemwang’s lead is diminishing.

Vote counting has been completed in three wards of Phakphokthum Rural Municipality so far.

Nepali Congress is currently leading with a narrow margin.

Congress candidate Damber Bahadur Khadka has secured 1,643 votes.

CPN (UML) candidate Nemwang has garnered 1,603 votes, trailing behind.

In third place is Dakendra Singh Thegim, who received 437 votes, while the candidate from the Rastriya Swatantra Party, Milan Limbu, secured 305 votes.

Vote counting is currently underway in Ward No. 4 of Phakphokthum Rural Municipality.

The Election Commission has informed that vote counting has been completed in Wards No. 1, 2, and 3 so far.
