KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress, the primary opposition party, has presented a list of seven individuals as potential contenders for the upcoming by-election in Illam-2.

Uddav Thapa, Chair of the party for Koshi State, disclosed that the recommended candidates comprise five men and two women.

The nominees are Dambar Bahadur Khadka, Besh Raj Acharya, Keshav Thapa, Nagendra Kumal, Ramesh Lingden, Chandra Maya Limbu, and Shani Kal Tamang.

Dambar Bahadur Khadka is anticipated to be officially approved as the party’s candidate in the by-election.

Following the untimely death of Subhash Nembang, a respected CPN-UML leader and politician, a by-election in Illam-2 is scheduled on April 27.
