Accused who fled murdering friend in Malaysia caught at TIA

Dhan Bahadur, a foreigner working in Malaysia since last year, is said to have been murdered on Mangsir 25 (Dec 11) by Anil Kumar Sah, who works in the same firm.

KATHMANDU: Authorities at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu successfully apprehended an accused who had fled after allegedly murdering his companion in Malaysia.

The arrested individual, identified as Anil Kumar Sah, 24, from Gaushala 5, Mahottari, is accused of killing Dhan Bahadur Pradhan, 40, of Shivasatakshi Municipality 3, Jhapa.

The victim, Dhan Bahadur Pradhan, had been working as a foreigner in Malaysia since the previous year.

The alleged murder took place on Mangsir 25 (Dec 11). Anil Kumar Sah, also employed in the same company as the victim, is accused of committing the crime.

Acting on intelligence that the suspect had returned to Nepal following the murder, Kathmandu Police Complex arrested Anil Kumar Sah at Tribhuvan International Airport.

The arrest occurred as he was on his way to Nepal via Himalayan Airlines.

The police initiated an investigation into the case following a complaint from the deceased’s wife.

The District Court Kathmandu has provided a deadline of 5 days for further investigation.

Kathmandu Police Spokesperson SP Kumodh Dhungel stated that ongoing investigations are being coordinated with the Malaysian Police and the Nepali Embassy in Malaysia.
