Locals surround and apprehend Bijuli Mandel after 3-day pursuit

KATHMANDU: The murder accused of 60-year-old Jailu Mandel of Chabispathivera Rural Municipality-7 of Bajhang has been arrested.

His brother Bijuli Mandel, who escaped after killing on Friday, was arrested after 3 days.

Mandel is believed to have been arrested at 6:30 a.m. today by residents who surrounded him from a residence above Ghate village.

Local Min Bahadur Mandel claimed that he was apprehended by locals while visiting Laximan Mandel’s home.

After tracing Mandel’s phone location near the woodland, investigators assumed he was sheltering there.

District Police Office Bajhang Deputy Superintendent of Police Bharat Bahadur Shah was deployed, however the police were unable to apprehend Mandel.
