ANNFSU street debate concluded, demands timely elections [Photos]

KATHMANDU: FEB. 2 – The ANNFSU, which is backed by the CPN-UML, held a street debate today in front of the Nepal Law Campus on Pradarshani Marg, demanding that local elections be held as soon as possible.

Even before this, ANNFSU has been organizing various programs to put pressure on the government to hold local elections on time. The ANNFSU stopped the Information and Communication Minister’s vehicle in Pulchowk on Tuesday and waved a black flag. Demonstrations were also held in the evening on various campuses.

Meanwhile, the government, in consultation with the Election Commission, has recommended holding local elections on the same day as the national elections on May 18.

Sunita Baral, Central Chairperson of ANNFSU, officials of the organization, local government head and legal practitioners participated in the street debate program organized today.
