Maiti Nepal rescues 25 Nepali women stranded in Sri Lanka

KATHMANDU: JUNE 26 – Maiti Nepal has repatriated 25 Nepali women who were smuggled to Sri Lanka.

Director of Maiti Nepal, Bishwaram Khadka, informed that 25 Nepali women who were brought to Sri Lanka through India for foreign employment and were facing immigration violation cases were repatriated on Thursday.

He said that those who have been suffering from mental and physical health problems after being detained for a long time will be reunited with their families after fulfilling the health criteria and being kept in quarantine.

The Bureau of Anti-Human Trafficking of Nepal Police has carried out a thorough study of the incident and taken further legal action.
