KATHMANDU: The District Ayurveda Health Center in Kathmandu is implementing the Chief Minister’s Public Health Program.

The program is being conducted in various locations in Kathmandu every Wednesday morning from 8 to 10 a.m.

Nepal has seen a significant rise in specific diseases affecting the heart and blood vessels, such as asthma, diabetes, cancer, and diseases resulting in two-thirds or more of deaths.

This program aims to timely identify diseases and their risks in healthy individuals, provide appropriate advice, testing, diagnosis, and treatment to prevent diseases from becoming complex.

Individuals aged 30 and above can participate in this program, which is being organized by the District Ayurveda Health Center in Kathmandu.

What is done?

• History and physical examination of non-communicable diseases.
• Weight, height, abdominal thickness are measured.
• Blood pressure is measured.
• CBC
• Blood sugar test (sugar)
• Kidney test (Urea, Creatinine)
• Liver test (Bilirubin, ALP, SGOT, SGPT)
• Lipid Profile (Cholesterol, TG, LDL, HDL)
• Urine test
• Faecal occult blood test
• Yoga is included alongside counseling and medication for promoting a healthy lifestyle.

The program is being conducted free of cost at Ayurvedic and alternative medicine centers in various villages, including Tinkune.

Additionally, the program is being carried out through Civil Health Service Centers (Tarakeshwor Municipality, Shankharapur Municipality, Gokarneshwor Municipality).

The District Ayurveda Health Center in Kathmandu has also informed that sugar and blood pressure testing will be conducted under this program.
