KATHMANDU: Less than a week after the emergence of a new party, divisions have once again fractured Upendra Yadav’s Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal, with political committee member Khagendra Makhim and others parting ways from Yadav’s leadership.

The new party under the leadership of Ashok Rai, which split up a week ago, has been registered with the Election Commission (EC).

The Federal Limbuwan Party had joined forces with JSP in 2074 B.S., but parted ways a year later.

Central committee members announced the formation of the Identity Alliance under the coordination of Dr. Mahendra Lawoti during a press conference on Thursday.

They accused the party’s top leadership of being involved in power games, adopting undemocratic behavior, and not being active in the identity movement.

Due to these reasons, both factions have decided to leave JSP, aiming to move forward independently towards their respective goals and objectives, as stated by Mahato.

The alliance aims to strengthen the identity issue and has called for unity among various identity-based parties, organizations, and activists.
