KATHMANDU: Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Nepal’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, is currently engaged in a week-long diplomatic mission in China.

On Tuesday, he is set to convene with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, for discussions.

During his ongoing visit, Minister Shrestha held talks with Wang Huning, who serves as the Chair of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and is a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau, on Monday, according to statements from Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Today’s agenda includes a meeting between Minister Shrestha and Foreign Minister Yi, focusing on advancing the bilateral cooperation outlined in the 12-point agreement forged during Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s previous visit to Beijing.

To foster diplomatic ties further, Chinese Foreign Minister Yi has arranged a dinner in honor of the Nepali delegation later in the day.

Ahead of these formal discussions, Minister Shrestha also took the opportunity to tour the Huawei Research and Development Executive Exhibition Center.
