‘World of Dance Nepal’ grand finale concludes; winners to represent Nepal in US, Thailand & Hong Kong (photos)

KATHMANDU: The grand finale of the world-renowned dance competition “World of Dance Nepal” has concluded with grandeur in the capital city, featuring high-energy performances, celebrity presence, and the announcement of winners across four competitive divisions.
The event was graced by the special presence of celebrated Indian choreographer Terence Lewis, alongside prominent figures from Nepal’s film and entertainment industry.

Participants selected through auditions held across five cities in Nepal and from India showcased their exceptional talent in the finale, delivering powerful performances that captivated both judges and audiences.

In a highly competitive outcome, Ridhi Sarkar secured first place in the Junior Division, followed by Pop in Smiley in second place, while Dipesh and Rishi jointly secured third position. In the Junior Team Division, Creators Crew emerged as champions, with NDA Junior finishing second and Purwanchal Dance Studio in third place.

In the Upper Division, Sajan Pakhin claimed first position, Sajan Gurung secured second, and Stars Steppers Crew took third place. Meanwhile, in the Upper Team Division, Team NT won the title, followed by Innate Souls in second place and S Square Family in third.

Each division winner received a cash prize of Rs 100,000 along with a specially designed trophy plated with 24-karat gold.
According to Artistic Director JD Tamang, the most significant highlight of the competition is the opportunity for winners to represent Nepal on the global stage.

He stated that all finalist performers from the Upper and Junior Team Divisions will participate in major international events, including the World Finals in the United States, the Global Dance Representative competition in Thailand, and the World Supremacy Battleground in Hong Kong.

National Director Roshan Gahatraj highlighted the impact of the platform, stating that it not only promotes Nepali talent globally but also elevates the country’s dance industry to international standards.

He added that World of Dance Nepal serves as a gateway for emerging dancers to transform their dreams into global opportunities.
The grand finale was further elevated by the presence of several celebrated personalities from Nepal’s film and entertainment industry, including Miruna Magar, Teriya Phouja Magar, Dayahang Rai, Prakriti Limbu, Kavita Nepali, Buddhi Tamang, Prashant Tamrakar, Shilpa Maskey, and Abhishek Khadka.

The judging panel featured Terence Lewis, Nepal’s legendary Wild Ripperz Crew member Kiran Thapa, and artistic director JD Tamang.
Originating in California in 2008, World of Dance has grown into a global platform, offering aspiring dancers worldwide an opportunity to showcase their talent.

The Nepal edition has now emerged as a major inspiration and gateway for Nepali dancers to enter the international stage.
The grand event was held at The Plaza, Jhamsikhel, in a luxurious and visually stunning setup. Notably, this marks one of the first large-scale dance events in Nepal organized by dancers themselves, making it a historic milestone for the country’s performing arts community.
