US Embassy in Nepal congratulates Nepal on successful parliamentary elections

KATHMANDU: The United States has congratulated Nepal on the successful completion of its parliamentary elections.

The US Embassy in Nepal issued a statement applauding the conduct of the polls, which saw a voter turnout of 60 percent.

The embassy also expressed eagerness to work with the incoming government on shared goals related to prosperity and security.

Meanwhile, election officials are transporting ballot boxes to counting centers, with vote counting expected to begin tonight in some areas.
