KATHMANDU: Government Spokesperson and Minister for Education and Sports, Sasmit Pokharel, has clarified the government’s position on issues raised concerning the Ministry of Finance and the Finance Minister.

Minister Pokharel stated that the Finance Minister has already responded to all questions raised against him both in the Federal Parliament and in parliamentary committees.

He emphasized that his clarifications were sufficient, and at present, the government sees no need for any further process on the matter.

He further noted that if required, the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers would take appropriate decisions, as done in the past.

“The Finance Minister has already clarified the issues in both Parliament and the committee. At this stage, the government does not feel the need for any additional action,” he said.

Addressing legislative matters, Minister Pokharel explained that proposals received from relevant ministries are discussed in the Cabinet and made public only after approval.

On the issue related to alleged irregularities in the Secondary Education Examination (SEE), he said the Ministry has not yet received any formal complaint or official information.

However, he reaffirmed that if any weakness or irregularity is found in the examination process, strict investigation and action will be taken against anyone involved.
