Suspicious package in Hetauda turns out safe, army disposes it

KATHMANDU: A suspicious package found this morning on the Dharan-Chatara road in Chisapani, Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-16, was safely disposed of by a Nepal Army bomb disposal team.
The package, marked with the word “Danger,” briefly alarmed local residents and motorists.
At around 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, a motorcycle patrol from the temporary police post in Hatiya discovered the white cloth-wrapped item in the middle of the road.
Fearing it could be an explosive device, the police immediately cordoned off the area and alerted the army’s bomb disposal unit.
According to the District Police Office, Makwanpur, the army team safely disposed of the item at 8:10 a.m.
Upon inspection, the package contained only cartons and plastic, with no explosives.
Authorities confirmed that someone had deliberately wrapped ordinary materials and left them on the road to create fear among the public.
