Royalist group vandalizes CPN office
The royalists, who were marching in groups, caused significant damage to the office.
KATHMANDU: A royalist group demonstrating in Kathmandu’s Tinkune area has vandalized the office of the CPN (Unified Socialist).
The group reached the office in Aloknagar and started throwing stones.
The royalists, expressing their dissatisfaction with the challenges faced by the people since the establishment of the republic, have demanded the restoration of the monarchy.
The protesters are advocating for the revival of the old monarchy and the establishment of a Hindu kingdom in Nepal, with a return to a royalist system.
The demonstration is being led by Durga Prasai, a prominent medical professional.
Prasai leads the “National, Nationalism, Religion, Culture, and Citizen Protection Campaign,” while Nawaraj Suvedi heads the “Joint People’s Movement Committee for the Restoration of the Monarchy.” The local authorities granted permission for the royalist protests in the Tinkune area.
