KATHMANDU: The Saturday fixtures in the FIFA World Cup 2026 group stage promise high drama as Groups G, H, and I reach their final round of matches, with all remaining knockout-stage spots still to be decided.

In Group I, two matches will be played simultaneously at 12:45 AM (Nepal time). France face Norway, while Senegal take on Iraq.

Both France and Norway have already secured qualification with six points each from two matches, but the battle for top position remains open, adding significance to their clash.

Senegal and Iraq, having failed to collect any points so far, have already been eliminated.

At 5:45 AM, Group H action continues with Spain meeting Uruguay and Cape Verde facing Saudi Arabia.

Spain lead the group with four points, while Uruguay and Cape Verde are level on two points each.

Saudi Arabia, with one point, still hold a mathematical chance of qualification but depend heavily on both their own result and the outcome of the other match. With all four teams still in contention, both fixtures are expected to be decisive.

Later at 8:45 AM, Group G concludes with Egypt playing Iran and Belgium facing New Zealand.

Egypt sit at the top with four points, while Iran and Belgium share two points each, and New Zealand have one.

No team has yet confirmed progression, making the final round crucial for determining the top two finishers.

With tightly contested standings across Groups G and H in particular, Saturday’s six matches are set to finalise the last 16 lineup and deliver a dramatic conclusion to the group stage.
