Release of ‘Karki Saila’ postponed to Sept 18
The updated release date places the film in direct competition with another anticipated Nepali release, Jhingedaau 2.
KATHMANDU: The release date of the film Karki Saila, featuring actor Jitu Nepal in the lead role, has been officially postponed.
Initially scheduled to hit theatres on July 17, the film’s release has now been pushed back by two months.
The producers announced the new release date on Wednesday through a newly released promotional poster, confirming that the film will now arrive in cinemas on Sept 18.
The updated release date places the film in direct competition with another anticipated Nepali release, Jhingedaau 2.
The newly released poster features Jitu Nepal alongside actress Priyana Acharya. Both characters appear in a somber mood, with Acharya resting her head on Nepal’s back while he looks ahead.
A loaded doko (traditional basket) placed nearby subtly hints at their roles as a married couple engaged in porter work, suggesting a story rooted in hardship and emotional struggle.
Directed by Rajendra Basnet, the film also stars Sushil Pokharel, Birendra Singh Kushwaha, Mansi Sharma, Manil Tamang, Renuka Acharya, Dipsan Limbu, Roda Rai, and Kamal Devkota in key roles.
The film is produced by Balkumar Rai, with Krishna Bhagat Chamling as presenter and Ananta Rai serving as executive producer. It has been filmed across eastern Nepal, including Dhankuta, Barahakshetra, and Chatara in Sunsari.
The technical team includes writers Sabin Adhikari and Shankar Dhital, cinematographer Damber Rai, editor Sandesh Shah, action director Kiran Dahal, music by Dipsan Limbu, and choreography by Kamal Rai.
